How to use
Fill age (year and month), and weight then clicks on _update_ alldoctor will
calculate data and will display the results as one red point on the curve and
calculate the deviation in relation to the average in Standard Deviation.
This chart allows you to follow the evolution of your child's weight according
to the time. The comparison takes place in relation to the
data published by SEMPE in 1979.
Explanations
The line of the middle represents the average, more the red point comes closer
of this line more your child's weight is in the norm.
If the red points are located beyond the superior line your child is obese (> + 2 DS).
If the red points are located below the lower line your child is skinny (< - 2 DS) .
The tendency
of the points is important, since an obese child can have some
points initially (> +2DS) and thereafter to come closer of the normal what
is very reassuring. On the other hand if the tendency doesn't improve
according to the time, it is better to consult your pediatrician.
Attention
To visualize the chart you must use Firefox 1.5, Opera 9 or Safari. Since
these three software support the html.canvas, what is not for the meantime
the case of internet explorer.
